Hey guys, got a few mates who Kite & looking to get into it myself. They have recommended something like an AirRush DNA 9m as they are apparently fairly easy Kites to use if you're at the beginner stage and are pretty safe too. Unfortunately I can't find any second hand ones, are there other makes and/or models that produce similar style kites that are easy & safe for beginners? I'm looking at spending around $500 - 600 on a kite. I'm probably going to start out on the river, but get to the ocean asap and will aim to ride a TT to start with. My mates don't want me to learn on their nice new ones for some reason 
I'll be having lessons and will be getitng a 2m trainer kite, just wanted some more info so I could an eye out on the second hand market. I'll also speak to the instructor when I start lessons in the new year. Be good to hear others opinions on what is a good beginner kite.
Hey mate, I am a kite instructor on the Sunshine Coast. We use AIRUSH DNAs in our schools, great kites, but AIRUSH only sells DNAs now to school to teach on in 6m, 8m, 10m and 12m (maybe a 4m). The AIRUSH lithium is an amazing kite and has the same dimensions as the DNA, except the Lithium is a one pump system and the DNA has separate blow up struts. If you weight is anywhere from 80kgs to 110kgs, I would recommend the 10m Lithium. Heaps of power and plenty of depower when you wanna drop the power in the kite. This is the same kite I ride on aswell as teach on because of the easy relaunch and simple bar this kite is amazing to learn on. Good luck in finding one. You could probably find a 2010 second hand one somewhere because the 2011s have been out for a couple of months now. See ya out on the water
