Tryin to get a real idea of how bad it actually is in wa with bans and agro etc?
I read alot on here about it but most shart you read on the webs is usually hype.
Are you guys suffering that bad over there?
Here on the east coast we get no flack at all really.(im on the goldy)
G.C is quite a large city on the coast too, why no probs here i wonder...
Attitude maybe? Euros? More Wind? More kiters?
Mullalloo seems to be a popular spot... How many kiters are out on a typically good summers day there?
The drive for registered kiters and licences and all that crud seems to be flowing from the west and it seems like a non issue here..

The WA Winge on the internet crew. Also formally known as Waksa, not so much the current Waksa. Have a obvious failing to do things in real life hence the need to right essays on the intanet and corret spelings. I would just ignore 90% of it. If they all did lawn boles they would be winging about the size of someones boles endangering the sport and potential bans for clothing violations and how the council will regualte us if we cant park in the parking bays with atleast 30cm each side

Hmm ok.

Imagine Benny if the Goldy had no waves and was 20kn most arvos in summer. And say maybe half of the GC surfers decided to fly kites cos there's no surf.

That's what WA is like.

The current fear and self-loathing topic of 8 pages is just another pimp thread to sell WAKSA membership.
I once emailed them and advised WAKSA on how to boost numbers.
They ignored me.
Go figure.

its mainly just the old sea dogs huffing and puffing over nothing, about time some of them think about trading the strings for a pole so they can yell their opinions behind a full sail as they speed off... The racists occa's dont help being so blinded by their own ignorance, they give many a bad name. Happy to say the majority of people you will meet are really friendly and welcoming.

I think the problem is that the "incidents" in kitesurfing (like anything) stand out and get talked about, not the countless hours of fun or awesome new people you meet. One small mistake apparently can cast a bad light on an entire day of happiness and entertainment.. apparently.

Good ? Benny

Yeah its not that bad at all....but i have walked away from my local spot(woodies) and one other(Melville) because of multiple units behaving like they are the only folks on the planet and putting other crew in danger, kites in dunes, trees, road, people getting dragged up the beach etc etc all in one sesh
Both of these spots have relativly small launch and landing zones in which everyone congregates

Go somwhere else i would imagine you would say, i do, but on a school day i dont have the time to drive an hour south or north
Mostly not much serious happens mostly/everyone has a safe/good time and pretty friendly, i have met some great mates in my time kiting, arseholes will be arseholes wherever they are(i think there is a lot of frustration around at the mo cos its the ****est season ever(so Far))

The question on the other thread by Juddy is merely to gauge opinion from the passionate SB crew(correct me if i am wrong) and i dont believe WAKSA are pushing for this yet

As i have said before the main issue the authorities are have i believe is with downwinder crew(original point) and swimmers/flags/SLC's
These guys will f u c k it up in the metro unless they do the right thing

Waveslave you seem to have a massive problem with WAKSA, obviously they are not going to say "how high" when you say jump, stop whining about them, why arent you on the commitee if you know all the answers ?
What was your suggestion for boosting numbers, i am interested ?

Yeah your right mate all I ever hear from the west is whinging about crowds, not enough space, "to the idiot today" etc etc he he he....

I ride various spots from townsville to goldy because I travel the coast with work and always take my kit with me. My biggets problem is which cove or inlet haven't I ridden yet and would like to try out today? lol Don't ever wanna go west sounds like it sucks to me

Oh, what a distressing thought!! That would be the end of it.

Fortunately here in Newcastle, most surfers I talk to think those 'little board things you ride are gay' so we're pretty safe for the time being.

I have to curb my enthusiasm for the sport and make a point of never talking it up to surfers. If they can't recognise what it is, they really don't deserve a piece of it.

The crowds here are fine, except for Nobbies, and most everyone knows or knows of everyone. It's still got a 'help everyone' feel to it. Dare I say, much like surfing many years ago.

The very vast majority of the people here are very nice and will help you when you are in need. It looks a lot worse on this forum than what it actually is I must say.. beaches in the metro area do get pretty crowded sometimes which can cause some dangers but its something you have to deal with in return for the great conditions WA is known for..

In the west we suffer from the 'Adam and Eve Syndrome'.....there's not a soul on the WHOLE planet but us two; revelling in the privacy of having a whole world 2 or 3 kids 'happen'..............

then another kid........

then in 20 years a couple of grand kids...

we complain of the noise....

the lack of respect......

the way these kids do things differently and before you know it we tell Eve we're thinking of putting the 'cue back in the rack', wrapping it up

Of course we can't wrap it up, it's too much fun......but we can whinge!

The only reason you hear more from WA is because there is more wind and more days of wind and therefore more incidents to log on and complain about. In QLD it's hard to complain about kooks doing kooky **** when everyone is standing on the beach scratching their balls in a 4knot offshore breeze 6 days a week.

And WA people like to whinge too.

Yeah Sugar,
Free WAKSA t-shirts was one of my suggestions ... among many others.
Actually, I'd dig a SugarQube t-shirt.
Cool name.
I like how you spell cube with a Q.
That's cute.
Do you have any free t-shirts ?

Its all good in WA just a allot of old guys who like to whinge about crap because they have nothing better to do. The rest of us are having to much fun actually kiting. So when we get home the only reason we scan the forum pages is mainly to check the latest gear reviews and have a laugh at the dicks complaning. But dont worry if you come over to WA you can tell who they are just look for the really white fat guys with the sunglasses and wide brim hats on usually over 35

Chances are 'Paulie', you already kited on a beach kept open by the "whingers/really fat white guys" blah blah etc etc.. But hey, what would you know or care

Listen, can you hear that? It's your alarm clock on your 35th birthday.. wanna go kiting at your local? awwww sorry dude, you can't. - beaches closed few years back... Too many inconsiderate muppets showboating and not giving a toss about the future.
