Any other good kiting spots near the Gold Coast? What are the wind conditions likely to be like in January?

Shearwater Esplanade, Its to be frank - a great spot for getting a desparate kite in - works on a NE or SE but is generally a little gusty compared to the ocean and just as choppy. If its definately blowing for the experienced Shearwater is the last place to have a great kite on the coast.
