Hey guys im 190cm tall and my wieght is about 95kg and was wondering what size board i should be looking at getting to use with boots. I currently riding a LF Recoil Comp board 134X42 i think it is.

Any suggestions on what boards are better to use with boots and also if any one got feedback on what boots they prefer would be helpful.

Thanks

Thats a very small board for your weight. I'm guessing you realised this though.
I would recomend the following;

Boards;
2011 SS darkside 142.
2011 LF concept 142.
2009 - 2011 Cabrinha custom 144.

Hopefully I get the new Darkside soon and I will let you know how it goes. I weigh 82kgs and
6'2ft.

Boots;
2011 SS boots.
2009 - 2011 Ronix "Cell" (stiffer flex) and "One's" (medium flex)
2010 Company boots.
2011 LF boots "shane" (medium flex) and "wastons" (stiffer flex)

137 Cardboard Tempo!
You might even find a good second hand one.

We have the Transit in stock also and the Concept/FLX, new & demo. Let me know if you need any further info. Can arrange demos to be sent to you if we dont have a local distributor in your area. Since last month we have brought on board the full range of Liquid Force, O'brien and Masterline range of wakeboarding equipment and accessories.

140 is your minimum. Ignore any comments for a board any smaller. Sir rowdy has been spot on with his recommendations, I suggest you take his advice.

I'd look at the LF Concept or Influence, a Cab Custom or a Darkside, all minimum 140cm.

On the boot front its pretty much LF, Slingshot or Ronix. Preference will depend on the individual. You may be able to pick up some 2010 gear cheaply but be careful of boot/board spacers because some boots may not be compatible with some boards.

What saffer said is very good advise, get a 140+ at very least.

You generally don't take a wakeboat in the surf and you cant drive a wakeboat through 2 inch's of water so shut up poor relative you old sack. Kiting opens up a massive amount of new area's for wakeboarding.

Boots are for chicks
Wakestyle is for those who's mummy's spent the money on a prado rather than a boat.
Sliders are for the backyard

Waveriding is for people who cant surf... or are to fat to paddle a board.

p.s. Anyone got any kitesurf board reccomendations for me, I'm 5'9ft and 120kilos I had to get a custom harness made but I think I'm ready to step into an S-turn out in front.

Yer i also try and get the flattest board i can. Gives me so much pop when i send it back to the future

Seriously though, you want ROCKER. Rowdy summed up the best wakestyle boards out there. Cab Custom, Slingy Darkside (2011 though, 2010 was crap) and LF Concept.

Everything else is rubbish. Unless your riding bindings for the "cool" factor like 95% of guys in boots, just bolt them onto any board and go do wakestyle yeww

maybe you guys have advice for me too? thinking about getting a cab custom 136 or a slingy darkside...BUT: i wanna use my girly 2010 LF boots for it - they are perfect. are they compatible with those 2 boards? cabrinha dealer told me it will work out, but after some research i m not sure anymore...

does anyone tried both boards? not easy to decide which one to pick, the darkside is here in europe more expensive and hard to get....hope 136 cm will be ok for me, i m not very tall and around 55 kg.

^^^a 136 board for your size should be ok for boots. Nothing to loose by fitting up your boots, give it a go.

For bigger guys a board around 140+ is a must. Boards? ss Darke side, LF, Nobile 50/50, cardboards tempo(posibly PRO), cab custom. Lots to choose form. The biggest thing will be getting used to the boots, it can be hard, frustrating, hurt more etc. But you need to toughen up and stick with it as it wont happen overnight. Play with the different mounting holes angles and widths to get a board that is comfortable to ride. After a month on boots you will ever love them or hate them.

Make sure your kites have a heap of grunt, boots can soak up a lot of power, ride fast with a low kite and you will love it

Cheers mate since there is no wind here i m wakeboarding last 5 months at least 4 times a week, next cable park is 20 km away, so good...super stoked...went kiteboarding the other day and missed my bindings. felt so wrong to kite with straps, board was dangling on my feet. dont like it anymore. maybe i m just more used to my boots than riding a twintip or a surfboard which is fun too.

yes, also bit nervous to get into it. pretty painful at cable park to fall on obstacles or crashing headfirst while jumping but at least the **** is over as soon as you let the handle go...hopefully i dont break my knees or neck from getting yanked with my board on my feet after a nice crash

...maybe i just wait another couple of weeks for the cab custom 2011 and see if i can try them with my LF bindings.

^^ dont worry cable hurts 10x more than kiting ever will..

i gota say LF influence or concept 2010 were both the sickest boards ive used in a while for boots, i had a 138 for 85kg 178cm, but i think a 142 would of been better in the end.

the 2011 stuff looks heaps better and teh concept looks like its on the money.

customs are great boards but the 2010s had LOTS of inserts rip out, all the boards mentioned above (2010 +) are 6inch spaced inserts, all ronix 09 - 11 and LF 09 - 11 (LF wake not kite boots) will fit on these boards, the kite boots from 09 were 6.5 and so were the boards from 09 (LF only)

yes boots are for chicks, thats right!!! as long as i m not crashing that hard as in cable, thinking i m losing my eyeballs because the impact happend too fast to close eyes, i m ok with everything.

guess i m gonna try out the cab custom 2010 and 2011 (as soon as its available) with my boots to see if theres any difference. maybe i also find a shop downunder selling a ss darkside so i can try it as well.

The thing is SS darkside 2011 only comes in 1 size... 142, and at the moment there is only one sample in the country doing the rounds showing off to the dealers and then to my door to give it the real testing. Pitty you cant get a smaller Darkside this year, maybe the new Lunacy in a small size would work alright for you, it looks like its undergone a revamp for 2011. Just try what you can, that is always my moto.

CFM boots with a 4 inch heel would suit.

But the heel might put a hole in poor relo's inflatable slider
