Was looking into heading down to VIC to get amongst the Nationals. I was wondering what the chances are of getting wind at St Kilda this time of year? Alot of the airline tickets arnt refundable.. Plus looking at the graphs all the wind at the moment seems to be East which would be offshore for St kilda. What direction is a normal Melbourne seabreeze and what's the chance of that happening for the Nationals?
If you can't ride at nationals there are a variety of other places you can head to which will be rideable.
about 1km away you can ride south melbourne or port melbourne on a SE, you just need to stay outside the 5 knot zone. Altona is great on an easterly, awesome flat water.
Plenty of spots to ride in melbourne & stkilda seems to get wind at the most random times, I'd say it would be wise if the organisers plan comps for the arvo as its the most likely time to get winds
Sorry, but the venue sucks big time....why the fark would anyone go to Melbourne period. Melbourne is a Euro wanabe and Sydney is a NY wanabee ...............boring. If you want to kite then there is only one worthy place and it is in WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.....period end story, your all wasting your time....sorry but that's how I see it.
Geez last night the forecast said the wind is going to be a sparrows fart for the the weekend and now seabreeze is forecasting for 25knots...bet by this arvo it'll back to nothing. How far out are the forecasts reasonably accurate? 2 days?
Might have to book a shotgun flight down Friday arvo..
wind is looking really good for friday sat and sunday, sunday might have to be altona tho...which is all time. thursday we should get a good kite at brighton. Its guna be a real good comp so i dunno y u are so against it greuzi.
