I'm heading over to fremantle for a week at the end of July and about to book my flights, should I purchase enough baggage to bring my gear?

who knows a front may come thru while your here. Check the weather prior to departure and plan on the basis of that.
I'd be heading over to Bali if I were you, as it is friggen way too expensive here in Perth and way more cheaper and hotter (in July) in Bali!!
