Can't believe it, but it's actually been blowin' solid here past 2 days and looks good for a couple more ...

(actual wind report is taken from the airport which is mostly shielded from the SW monsoon winds, so never shows the real wind speeds this time of year)

It's our off-season so a bit strange - the el nino must stuff up usually normal windy places, and maybe makes it blow better in not-so-usually-windy places ... well, that's one theory ...

good forecasts for phuket and Mui Ne as well ... Bali normally has strong trades by this time of year - but they have been all-but missing this season...

My 'wind crystal balls' been playing up on me the last few years but ive got a good feeling its payback this year

Totally mis-read it for phuket 2 years ago for august and got half a day out of 3 weeks on the water.. just bad luck as the wind was good just b4 i got there and came back as i left

Last years hope was mui ne in july/august for 2 weeks.. it got a frontal at midday everyday for 20 - 30 mins then nothing.. ended up heading up to the lake for garanteed wind but gusty as the day heated up and the wind would build from the sand hills - definitely inters and up only - still better than no wind at all

Am planning this year on 2 weeks bali and 2 weeks vung tau but will keep thailand open if its working

Keep us posted on it Buzz as the info we get from weather sites isnt always spot on

It was blowing in Phuket too.
There was heaps of rain though, and the wind was up and down with the showers. When the rain stopped long enough (Which it did on both Saturday and Sunday afternoon), the wind stabilized and we got some good riding in. I was using my 8M switchy on Saturday afternoon - noice! (Especially for Asia!)
