If you dont ride F One this question will be spanish or some other foreign language - sorry !!
Ok so such a crazy question but Fone says I should get 18 to 38 knots out of my B3 8m kite. (Im 92 kg and ride either a 133 TT or mostly a Spleene Zone 174 x 44 ( surfboard style but thin and flexible)
I know I can adjust the length of the front line using the knots above the bar - I usually run the top knot. And I know that I can change the back line length under the bar end float - I usually run this one on the third knot from the bottom.
Today was 21 to 33 knots (BOM site nearby) and I was maxxed WTF? ok so only maxed in the gusts - but it was no where near the 35 to 40 knots suggested.
This B3 8m kite seems to have a better bottom end wind range than I ever thought possible - so now i'm keen to find out its top end - the front line has three knots.... and the back have 5 !!
If I rigged 'front' 3 (closest to the bar) and 5 on the back lines ( ie very long backies) - will the 8m B3 do its stuff in 35 knots??????? - or will it just become unstable and fall out of the sky and spank my ass ????
I don't know what F-one are talking about. 38knots on an 8m bandit? Anything over 30 knots and you would be crazy overpowered. If you use all the depower knots to totally depower the kite, and try to ride it in strong winds like that, you will find the leading edge becomes unstable and can bend in on its self and be uncontrollable.
I am also 90kg. In 15-25 knots I use my 8m bandit. In 25 - 30 knot conditions I use a 5m bandit.
Centre line 2nd knot from the top and back lines on the 2th knot from the bottom of the floats and you will roughly gain 10knots more on the higher end but loose nearly as much on the lower end.
Either that,or stick to top knot centre and back of the rear lines to 4th from the bottom.
Nothing wrong with using an 8m in decent wind. Just pends what ur comfortable with and what style u ride
