keeps getting better and better, freak northerly's and peeling waves, beats the summer seabreeze hands down. Winter really is the best kiting season

Compared to last summer this winter is a clear winner

Kited today just north of Leighton, 27-32knots this afternoon. Awesome waves and wind fairly constant N by NW with the sun shinning. Almost better than the whole of summer.

at about 1-2 up at trigg you couldn't get better waves in the metro, then when the wind cranked up a gear it was boosting time

+2 ya pricks.

Although did get out for 40 minutes this arvo just before it all went to Sh1t.. Rookie error by the way with landing kite, now have a total of 8 band aids on my hands.... kiddies kite lines can cut!

But awesome wind, real consistent, and decent swell. Had a ball, until I had to chase kite into the dunes....that's another story i dont want to discuss.

As far raving about winter, yeh you are right, but only if you can choose the time ya kite. it seems the patterns have all come through such that sh1t hits the fan in the late arvo, if could get out earlier, yeh has been good.

Got a good couple of hours in, started on the 7 and was way overpowered in no time (gusting to 37 knots on OR graph and on strapless SB) came in and pumped up the 5, sweet as, and some nice RH'ers for a change.

Damn you lose you kiting fitness pretty quick at this time of year though.

P.S. I will be doing my bit for the economy the next two days, which look like they are shaping up to be nice kiting days

All could have been avoided if youd used a bag full of sand to anchor down your kite

hey mate was that you up at trigg? can't blame you if it was, wind switched on from 20 to 30 knots in minuites!
i made the rookie error of only taking a 8m and twinny, had the made the most of the twinny for skate esk' tweaked out slides , and huuuuuuge boosts

Nah that would have been slightly sensible, just me and a lone windsurfer. Total rookie error. Had one other kitesurf accident in 12 years, so gotta tape up the hands and hit it this arvo!

LOL!!! The rocks nearly become my compulsory anchor, wouldn't recommend having to reverse launch in those winds, not in the chicken loop to avoid shredding your kites on stupid rocks the council has put in. Kite all good, hands not. I knew it was gonna hurt! But got myself in a stupid situation. Paid the price, learnt, move on.

South west today held up, the front stayed off shore. Head high waves, about 16 to 19, real fun. Hands are all cut to Sh1 t though so was kind of painfully, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Chris let's just say it was 545, sun gone down, dark as hell, wind had picked up to 30 plus, and I lost my head for a few moments. The ironic thing is have a fifth line and didn't employ it. Also c kites don't like to be landed like the bows or deltas. Damn brain fade. Once I was in the obvious predicament I knew it was gonna be the kite or my hands. The hands are cut and will heal. The kite is okay. That's all I'm gonna say. I feel like a stupid rooki.

I was watching you Eppo, I'm a newby and have just bought a 7, but am feeling **** with flu and thought not a good idea to go out.

Looked like you had a good time with some nice rights. Doing better than the windsurfer and the surfer getting washed around.

Saw you come in, and wondered where the kite went!
I was quite jealous actually, and am looking forward to doing the same.

Loads more kites out at Scarbs.

Cheers Dave

Nah you didn't dave I was down in mandurah. Hope you didn't see me anyhow, I hope no-one ever saw what a farqin clown I was. Talk about the moron show, with yours truly as the dikhead protagonist.

Good choice not going out mate as a beginner, winter tests all of us, better the get your sh1t together first...just like me...doh.

Well misread that! Must be crook, Austin was out at Trigg.
Winters frustrating, having got the basics nailed with the 10, hard to find good conditions to keep learning in... Bought the 7 last weekend, not sure if it will get used before summer.

All a bit tricky.
