Just reading the waksa newsletter and noticed no kiting at beach 3 during the world sailing championships. From the 3rd - 18th December
what a pain in the ass

Ha!
Arrogant Euro sailors preventing access for arrogant Euro kiters. The pond will be even more packed.
Beach 3 is my local and I can tell you now I will be riding there during the duration of the event. I seriously doubt they will be inside the reef anyway.
I was riding last summer when they where running some test races on the courses as outlined in the PDF.
The course markers where well offshore from beach 3 around a K or more.
Shutting down Perths best flat water spot for a bunch sailors is not going to go down well amongst the people that wait all winter for this spot!
Cool I can use there dinghys as a fun box.
This should be a fun season for sure tack around from beach 2 and into it!
I don't think you'll be permitted to go in the water.
Imagine being responsible for a team not qualifying for the olympics because your safety broke and your kite got tangled in a keel.
Still at least you'd get on the news.
Where will the Leighton Beach kiters go? The northern border of the north exclusion zone is Cable Station. Dutch is going to be crowded!
Confirmed. There was a big sign at the carpark showing the restricted zone on Sunday and a story in The West Australian about it four days earlier. Ban is 8am-dusk from Woodys up to Cable Station and about 5km offshore.
better let all the euros know so that they can consciously go and f*ck up another spot for us just like they are actively trying to do to the pond
olympic sailors won't be dragging there boats up on woodies between races, believe me.
besides
its only two weeks, i'm sure we'll all get over it
gees guys quit your moaning. its for three weekends....
It is another wind powered watersport like ours. Support the way that Fremantle Sailing Club and Perth is supporting these events to get over 700 competitors from round the world to an event in our part of the world.
If this goes well it could really help our sport as well. If a few D*&^ heads go out and cause disruption it just gives councils more ammunition to get kite surfing banned.
