So anyone used the 2012 zeeko for a while now? How you finding it?
What sort of lines does the bar come from? Eg stiff like ozone or soft like north for instance? What is the larks head config at the kite end?
looks like an ingenious set up wanted to get one bit was waiting for a while to see how crew have found it?
Wear on lines factor? Do you use the H clamp of just normal.
I have been using 2 sets since January when it was released.
The finish is not the best but it does the job. Eg hard bar end and cheap floaters (same as North).
The trim system on the other hand is to me a real breakthrough. Although it took me a little while to get use to it, I have to say that I am not ready to reconsider getting back to the clam cleat.
I really enjoy the fact that you can decide to ride with both a short reach or a long reach depower and still have the option to completely depower the kite if needed (way better than the stopper ball).
The quick release is not as sturdy as a North but works very well and has been reliable since I bought it.
Kite configuration is lark head on the steering and pig tail on the center lines. Lines are similar to Airush I think. They have stretched a bit but no sign of big wear so far. The trim rope on the other hand start to show some signs of wear but as I have used them a fair bit, I'd say I'm happy with it.
As for the H-stopper, I wouldn't ride without the optional part. Without it the H-stopper tend to run away and out of reach which is not a big deal for experienced riders but could be a concern for newbies. This optional part snapped on mine after 5 month but Zeeko sent me a whole bag of them within 7 days...never broke any since then.
I'm about to renew my gear and will order from them again.
Hope this help.
Also been very interesed in the Zeeko setup although i think the bar and QR look pretty cheap.
does anyone know if you can buy the depower system on its own without the bar and QR?
and are there any other quick releases around that can be used with the zeeko set up?
I am the Australian Zeeko importer.
and can say that we only have happy Zeeko customers.
All the UDS bars have proven to be reliable and we have had no calls to suggest problems.
the QR is light to use and some have taken a little time to get used to just how easy it is.
Zeeko is a very small company that can easily listen and react to feedback and we will see improvement from this.
Thanks Rail inn for emailing me. The price is very competitive considering the cost of a new north, ozone bar. So can you confirm the config of the end of the lines.
