I am trying to loosen north footstraps on a 2010 WAM they are sealed but have a strap you can pull to tighten. (NEwFangled technology that allows you to adjust while sailing.....)

Stupid here cant work out how to get them to loosen. Is there some magic spot to ress to relaease the Ratchet (Pronounced RAT@#$%) by frustrated me.

Any help appreciated.

Next to the strap on the 2011 straps their is a rubber piece. Press down on the rubber piece and wiggle your foot this will loosen the footstrap.

Im not sure if the 2010 are the same, but sounds like it.

I had the same problem. but seems to work. Though have only had my wam for a few weeks

Hi Oldjenkins,

Yep, the little rubber bit indicates where the buckle should be positioned. Just press it and force the strap open. I have seen the buckle move from under the little black pad so if that doesn't work, have a bit of a prod around and you'll feel it.

They don't cinch down an awful lot but will stretch open a bit. If you need additional help and you are around Scarbs, drop in to the shop and we give you a hand.
