thanks steve. but looking for a 2ndhand board, and cheap(ish) (<350) 'cause it's hopefully not gonna get much use.
glide seems to be the favoured LW machine, tho i'm open to others, preferably tapered rather than boxy.
Try the Geelong second hand dealers.
Mine was stolen from Pt Henry Geelong.
Now got a Nobile Skimboard which I really like for light wind.
you won't find many on the market because they are such a good addition to your quiver, that no one want's to part with them. I had a nice sesh on mine just last week when 3 other locals tried to get off the beach, but couldn't get going( me 85kg 12m sb3). Most are amazed at how powered up I get in marginal conditions on mine.
I got the plasma which is brilliant, gets you planing in very light winds. I think you can get them new for 699 at kite addiction. they might even go lower

anyone got anything to say about the glide vs plasma vs zephyr vs exile etc?
ice - that's a bummer!
here's hoping the board finds its way back home.
bennie - i've been trolling for a glide for months now and just recently missed the only one i've ever seen advertised (2nd hand), cheep too, snapped up pronto like you said. ![]()
in a perfect world i'd like one that kinda does waves (pls, noone say surfboard....)
cheres
There was one in the buy and sell the other week for 300 bucks nut my advice us to buy i noble skim board lot more fun!!
Hey Doggie - I've ridden both... My brother in law and I have Glides and a mate has a new Plasma. Go the Glide if you can get it. Plasma is good (looks much better), but heavier than Glide. Both go upwind really well. The Glide is better if you want to boost a bit in lighter winds... Both are really flat in the rocker and throw up a bit of spray.
Good luck - grab the first one you can get your hands on...
I can't recommend the Nobile skim enough. Even unco me can ride it fine... It's not as hard to ride strapless as you may believe.
Yesterday in brissy it was 12-14knts quite choppy and I was out tacking the big volume poleys with my skim and 10.5 helix... No BS! I'm 83kg
Make sure you try and demo one... Fins on to start with though.
Choicey had a demo over in WA I think, if not Jas @ Briskites did me an awesome deal on a new one.
