Firstly WTF are you doing watching Hone & Away. There are as I use to be one and it's a great place to kite on NE. I guess it all depends on the time of day they are filming.

Shh it's a secret spot...

Firstly.. oh wait someone beat me to that...

The northern end gets quite gusty due to the headland, and given it's location you have to be very unlucky to see the spot busy with kiters.

Parking is pay by the hour though, and that's a bit annoying.

Its my 3rd favorite show after Rake and ashes to ashes .(my daughters english teacher actually said that it has all the elements of shakespear, tragedy, humour etc without the olde english )Great Aussie drama served up daily .It's just as well ch 7 has catch up as its on before I get home from kiting usually.Lots of ex home and awayers end up going on with it .Look at Lincoln lewis in "tomorrow when the war begins " and flamin heck what about Ray Meagher as Alf Stewart .An everlasting character and actor .Ruby is a hottie ,I can't believe that the trash mags said she was fatCmon be honest everyone has watched it sometime .It's time to come out about it ,

hey just out of interest, are you allowed to kite in Barrenjoey. Many years ago when I lived in Sydney we use to Windsurf in the bay and Palm Beach was my first venture on the windsurfer into the waves. It was always windy in summer at Palm Beach and paid parking was also a pain back then. FYI, we still do not pay for parking at WA beaches, got to love that..!
On the kite now and love it sik...

Hey Munga. Yeah you can still kite on the flat side at Palmy. Really good but can be gusty on a NW. If you get a good swell and a good NE at Palmy it 's sick. Good crew that I use to kite with up there. JB and the late Big Wave Dave. But the wind called me in the West and been hear nearly five years now.

Palm beach was the first place i ever saw kiteboarding in real life (not on TV). This was back in 2001. I had heard of it and always though it sounded like fun.
So i sat on the beach and watch with interest a guy doing it for awhile getting some pretty big air but to be honest it looked quite ungraceful so it turned me off it!
....for a few years anyway.
