Hi All,
I just got my new board and am very excited, setting it up at the moment and was hoping for some advice.
Foot pad width/ angle -
Im thinking as wide as possible as long as it still comfy (which is the widest setting)
Footpad Angle -
get the angle i loosened the screws and moved them around a bit until i liked it
foot strap tightness -
im not sure here, should i have to work my foot in or easily slip it in, at the moment i have it so i have to work it in and it feels great once its in.
does all of the above sound correct? any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated
I think you should ask these questions at the beach. Check out other peoples setups, see if theirs feels good or not for you.
It's sort of hard to explain on a forum. Maybe speak to who you bought the board from too.
Also a bit of trial and error will get it right.
thanks bjw,
I will do that, ive set it up so its comfy, i will try it out and see what some people think next time i go out.
I was really just checking in case there is some magical stance will make me improve alot
widest doesnt always = best and is often what causes knee / ankle pains.
it should be as wide as you can go while still being able to do a low squat (basically just to check your knee movement to see if it's being limited or pulled off it's line) and the angle of the pads should be so that when you do the said squat your knee travels in a straight line and doesn't feel like it wants to bend inwards or outwards
This sounds ridiculous and it's not advice but I've found (and wondering if any1 else has) that I tightened my footstraps up alot to try keep my feet more secure (obviously not too tight) and they seemed to come out more.
Somehow I manage to stay connected with a more relaxed fit...?
