the sliding stopper on the cab's powerline is supposed to be adjustable - there's a ratchetted ring that you can squeeze to adjust how tight the stopper grips the line, and therefore how much force is needed to push the bar away to depower.
great idea but, it doesn't work... the things are built so the ring can't be tightened enough to stop the bar sliding up when even lightly powered. apparently it's a liability issue... if it worked then cabrinha couldn't claim their kites come with 100% depower. i asked them.
anyone got a fix for this?
Use an RRD Stopper, basically to rings welded together and the centre line runs through both.
SOS has them for about $15.
I made a similar setup but have not tried it yet on either rope and pvc sheathed centre line but I do think it would work with a slight adjustment.
Cheers
Rich
Buy a 2011 Cabrinha :) Problem has been solved :)
They will also sell the upgrade kits to convert your 2010 bar to the 2011 system for pretty cheap - I heard it will be about $100...
I've also heard of people using a cable tie above the black thing that runs up and down the centerline... Above the ratchet.
Hey Rhys,
Can you post a picture of the 11' setup....?
interested to see what they changed...
I have been on my 2010 Cab for nearly a year and i dont have to much trouble with the stopper. It slides when it needs to slide and when i rest the bar on the stopper.. it holds (and thats only the second notch of the ratchet)
