Assume you're referring to the Penrith park that is opening soon?

Ummmm - you give us your WA wind, and you can have our wakepark. Deal?

^^id consider it! not much WA wind around atm anyway...

having one in perth would be awesome as long as skiers are banned! they are about as anoying on cable as those poleys that cruise just just down wind of you when ur kiting..

As a kiter the Penrith park is not worth the money if it's closed over winter. Save your hard earned cash for the snow fields.

Hmm not sure about that - my back or an envelope calculations (telstra bill ) peg 6 months at the cable park to be about the same as 1 week in the snow

The snow is good but is Australian snow really that great?

A bit of an update guys.

Membership starts in December till May. I haven't heard if it closes during winter. The QLD cable parks seem to stay open in the winter. But the water is a lot warmer, and patronage seems pretty good, just hearing the talk on the wake forums.

I am pretty sure when Panthers cable was open last time it did close during winter, which is a shame. I hope it does stay open in the winter, as the winter winds this year just plainly sucked.

$990 is a lot of hard earned $$. But is worth it for me who live pretty close by. You will catch me there most times the wind isn't up. Memberships are now open to the general public so if you are interested, get in early, as the initial run of memberships will be unlimited.

If the park is finished early, they will open in up earlier than December, reports are early November, but i think this seems to be optimistic. I drove by today, and not alot of activity was seen in the carpark, but maybe i just couldn't see from my vantage point. A few photos on wake.com.au, show that they are certainly revamping it up.

990 vs the amount u spend on kiting is pretty insignificant... hell u pay more than that just for a surf board or 2x that for a kite. id rather chop the biggest kite in my quiver off and go cable on those days then kite when the winds actually there. would be a joy cross over during summer...

Besides this its limited membership

great if you don't work. otherwise you are paying to stand in line all weekend waiting for kneeboarders (who do endless laps) and kiteboarders (who just carve back and forth on kiteboards creating chop) to fall off so you can get another couple of laps in.

i love riding cable but i hate the busy days.

i got shown how to deal with the knee boarders and other members that just cut left and right in a rather effective manner haha

We used to have one, then they sold it off to put houses there instead.
