For grip on your feet the sync is fantastic. It really locks your foot in.

I like to twist my front foot for more comfort and a better stance. I could not get enough angle when I had a Cabrinha Custom. The Custom has a wide stance, even at the narrowest setting, so that made the stance and comfort problem worse.

I could ride ok but it felt like I was trying to twist my foot inside the binding rather than the binding flexing to fit my foot.

I 've put the synch bindings on a Shinn a few years back, just after they came out. Was not impressed and took them off after a few sessions.
Now I'm riding '11 Custom with sync bindings and I'm loving it. You can tighten the laces enough to lock your foot in. It's initially a bit harder to get back into the binding after a crash but after a session or two you won't notice it and adjust your foot when you get on the board. I think they work well on a Custom.

I love my syncs on my Xenon board. I like my feet to be in pretty tight and the laces allow me to tighten every part of my feet. It will take a bit of adjustment over a few sessions to dial them in. Worth the effort.

The 2012 version is very cushy and definitely the most comfy and adjustable strap/pad combo I've used.

I had the '09 Syncs and went through quite a few of the plastic side pieces before the sides of the strap tore through, so i gave up on them. When they were brand new they felt fantastic; one of the most locked in setups i've ever ridden, but their long term durability just wasn't there. I'm sure Kitepower will be able to comment if they've changed or improved the design since the original.
If they were made to last longer than a single summer season then they'd be sensational.

Now riding '09 LF Comp Laces and have been fairly happy with them but the pads are starting to compress a bit thin so i'm back on the market for a new setup. The new version of the LF Comps looks pretty damn good and i've heard good things of the Nobile IFS setup but haven't had a chance to try them yet.

Cabrinha have constantly upgraded and improved on the original design, the strap side blocks are no longer an issue. The originals (still warranted by Cabrinha!) were shipped with a dodgy plastic in the side block from one of Cabs suppliers. Cab shipped replacement heavily reinforced side blocks to all dealers and we still have plenty.
The lace system has been changed a few times, and now it is just loops of webbing that are well sewn into the strap body, the inner surface of the strap has been refined and modified to be one of the most comfy straps I've ever used.

I find the Nobile IFS pad to be the most comfy, also don't mind the Underground/Cardboard type of pad.

I am certainly still happy with mine.
Other than the plastic issue ( seems to be sorted )the durability IMO is excellent mine are also 09 models but i use LF Luxury footpads ( i think also 09) instead of the Cabs... athough i did put slighty larger washers on when replacing the plastic sides which may have helped in the strap longevity stakes
lI have opted to stay with the 09 straps as opposed to upgrading as they have now moulded nicely and the straps are wider (almost cover my foot entirely) than the newer ones.

i wouldnt mind grabbing a couple of spare plastic bits to take on trips away just in case though
Kitepower - ill give your shop a call next week and order a few

Still warrant the 09? I couldn't get warranty back then let alone now!!! I purchased the 09 and took mine back to the local dealer after they failed after 2 months of use with numerous problems. He constantly blamed the Aust distributor for Cabrinha for not following through. I ended up just giving up and had to buy new straps and pads.

I had heard a rumor that kite stores had the option of purchasing Cabrinha products cheaper if they took care of warranty issues themselves rather than the distributor. Surely there is no truth to that, but it would explain alot.

Now that I have have had my rant, another product to consider are the Crazy Fly's, the pads and straps really lock the feet in and are very comfortable.
