For grip on your feet the sync is fantastic. It really locks your foot in.
I like to twist my front foot for more comfort and a better stance. I could not get enough angle when I had a Cabrinha Custom. The Custom has a wide stance, even at the narrowest setting, so that made the stance and comfort problem worse.
I could ride ok but it felt like I was trying to twist my foot inside the binding rather than the binding flexing to fit my foot.
I 've put the synch bindings on a Shinn a few years back, just after they came out. Was not impressed and took them off after a few sessions.
Now I'm riding '11 Custom with sync bindings and I'm loving it. You can tighten the laces enough to lock your foot in. It's initially a bit harder to get back into the binding after a crash but after a session or two you won't notice it and adjust your foot when you get on the board. I think they work well on a Custom.
I love my syncs on my Xenon board. I like my feet to be in pretty tight and the laces allow me to tighten every part of my feet. It will take a bit of adjustment over a few sessions to dial them in. Worth the effort.
love them have had to replace a few of the plastic parts that the screws go through over the last few years due to breakage but they are awesome.
The 2012 version is very cushy and definitely the most comfy and adjustable strap/pad combo I've used.
Still warrant the 09? I couldn't get warranty back then let alone now!!! I purchased the 09 and took mine back to the local dealer after they failed after 2 months of use with numerous problems. He constantly blamed the Aust distributor for Cabrinha for not following through. I ended up just giving up and had to buy new straps and pads.
I had heard a rumor that kite stores had the option of purchasing Cabrinha products cheaper if they took care of warranty issues themselves rather than the distributor. Surely there is no truth to that, but it would explain alot.
Now that I have have had my rant, another product to consider are the Crazy Fly's, the pads and straps really lock the feet in and are very comfortable.
