Hi guys, please help

I've been riding north kites for years now and love em to bits but have just added a second hand 7m rebel to my quiver as there seems to be more and more days when i need it...
The big problem i've got now is its come with the standard 25m lines and I've been desperate for a while to try riding shorter lines and so looking to chop my lines down with this one so i can give it a go... If I like it then i'll maybe even ride my 9 on them

Questions is where do i take the 5 metres off from.... Obviously on the back lines it dont matter but the front lines, do I take it from below the 'Y' section or above it or would this change the flying profile of the kite too much. I've looked around on the net and cant seem to find any dimensions for each of the sections on the standard 20m linesets

Thanks guys

Steve

Usually you would just chop them at the end of the lines I.e. The connecting end to the kite
But with the north I would suggest you take off below the Y so you maintain the angle designed in the bar and only shortenng the length of lines.

If you take off above Y more likely to effect flying

Just my thoughts but I only have shorten lines on a fuel.

Do it - 20m Lines are great on a 7m kite - just make sure you cut it below the Y on the front lines as Bob said - otherwise it will mess with the steering.
