kiters on East coast NSW beware this arvo .Looks like a possible clear air ( None or not many tell tale clouds or drop off of NW wind before it slams ) buster coming .A lil while back a bunch of kiters in Sydney got hammered by one of these.

screams to me of a double case of phuckwit.

i believe there to be a clear and discernable difference between a lifeguard and a clubbie.

a lifeguard is there to look after the well being of ALL beach goers

a clubby is a overzealous p-rick in a stupid hat and undies who claims the beach as THEIR own.

Doctor,
In our area clubbies kite and kiters patrol.
So where ever your world is you can keep it.
Whether you or the clubbies caused the the drama
which made you make the above comment I dont really care.
In my world clubbies are ace for a whole host of reasons.
Constant winds,
Baz.

Have to agree with Baz, and often the complete opposite is true too. Some lifeguards have a complete power trip going on and are real weird and clubbies are locals who care about their community and love the beach life.

Yesterday was exactly as Lach described we ere doing a lesson and finished just as it hit, then went and dropped wide eyed students off at the beach and proceeded to help rescue dozens of small yachts that were knocked flat, it was a scary day for most of them and a very busy day for the Coast Guard and Marine Rescue Service boats and volunteers.
Kitepower's 5M Razorback RIB handled the 40-45 knot conditions with ease and was easily the fastest boat on the water in those conditions, upwind crosswind and downwind. Troy Gibson's boat driving skills in choppy conditions - awesome!

Kitepower had a demo day planned but we canned it on Thursday evening with a clear memory of what happened around the same time last year when almost the exact same type of southerly buster hit. Yesterday there were no kiter emergencies that I have heard of so far.
