Well its official .Its a schemozzle .I put my objection to the DA a few months back and didn't get a reply (or free ticket) .Last night I hurled half melted butter pats at the security guys and tried to chain myself to the entry gates so noone could get in or out .They didn't think it was funny and grabbed me and made me sit right next to the biggest speakers and listen to wolfmother pre concert "check one two,how's that man?" ,tuning ,reverb and feedback checks for 2 hours and then threw me out .
In all seriousness there are quite a few beach users that are a bit cheesed about these mega events that seem to be more and more common at Nobbies .There are a bunch of old surf heads that gather there each morning that I hear want to get a petition going to have these events staged elsewhere (whats wrong with Stockton?) I wouldnn't mind if the council reinvested the money they are getting back into the area and specifically a big fan right up the top of nobbies
I;ve got a life thanks very much Macgyver . There was a thread here a while back (which is why i put fat as butter UPDATE .) about it .I personally don't have a problem with Fat as butter .What I and others have a problem with is the location on the beach where the whole area is shut down and inaccesible for 2 weeks on the icon of Newcastle and where people who want to use the beach and the park can't get to it .The park gets trashed and looks like S H I T for weeks .
There is a perfectly good park opposite that has an ampitheatre and was designed for it .
I heard the music over at stockton and it sounded great and spoke to people last night who went and really enjoyed it.Again I don't have a problem with these events .I and others have a problem with the current location .

A few years ago they blocked the road to Nobbies. I thought f#ck this im goin out as it was a crankin NE wind with 6 foot waves. I put the thinking cap on which doesn't happen to often and approached the traffic coordinator and prceeded to feed him a BS story of how I was a professional and showed him a van that was full of gear. "Yeah mate no probs" was him reply. Sweet, the whole beach to myself.
You should just do pooh somewhere. Usually when I'm angry about something I just do a pooh somewhere and it all works out.
thanks for the idea .I just did a poo in a paper bag and put it on the steps out the front of the councils GM office. I set fire to it and someone ran out and stomped all over it to put it out
