That's a top little off shore spot, there is definitely more wind there than what they are trying to make you think.

I kited a spot in SA around 18 months ago where the water was crystal clear and glassy like that, but i was on a 12m and normal TT. It was one of the freakiest kiting sessions of my life, all i could hear was the spray coming off the board, and could see every fish rock and piece of seaweed on the bottom. I need to get back there this year and get some video of it.

Very cool, and some nice flying - thanks for sharing

What size kite and board were you using? Did you pack flippers for the swim in?

I'm guessing you've never relaunched a flysurfer? I'd rather have an FS out there than an inflato.

I bet the water is 2 inches deep and 10 minutes from freezing solid.

There is no way I would roll my lines out if the water looked like that.

Beautiful. Sometimes I get so caught up in the motion I forget to appreciate the natural environment this all takes place in.

I would like a kite that would get me out in glass conditions, for sure, how much are they? Are these the kites that can also be used as a paraglider?

I would assume you must be correct. Whatever your thoughts are on the FS, one fact alone remains, the relaunch capabilities cannot be beaten.

Yeh I know what you mean, I remember out on the montebello islands of karratha WA, a huge tidal differential created amazing clear conditions and although it was still blowing 10-12 or so knots you could actually make out the individual fish species as you cruised by on the big Cat.

But alas these kites, they are light wind machines, if that's what you are after, me, too boring

These kites are unreal!!

What if you stack them and use a surf board, you could go out in less wind!

This has to be the slickest kiteboarding video I have ever seen. I would love to have a session like that!

I dunno, the little ones look pretty good in stronger wind too, I'd like to try one of them too one day.

Agreed! I use an 8m pyscho4, now that is anything but boring! Just big kites in light wind does nothing for me, rather go diving!

Thats the 21m in 6-8 knots. Hardly boring if you see the height he gets on some of the jumps.

I stand corrected - sort off. Amazing hey, that a kite can move so fast in such light conditions, and relaunch so easy...The only choice really for light windkiting.

I've seen kurnell in sydney almost butter flat when it's blowing about 20 knots, I think it was a NWer and the wind was really warm so it didn't even feel strong

Yeh it can happen. But I know these kites do fly in such light conditions, I wouldn't be surprised if it was only 6-8knots, if it was 20 knots, he would be jumping.

Only way to know is to give it a go...
