I quite disagree with you mate.
Of course you can find idiots in any sport, on any spot, but I find that overall the attitude and atmosphere amongst kiters of all levels are really good around Botany Bay (not as nice as the northern beaches but still great
). To my opinion, this actually is a good illustration of how open-minded and friendly the Australian culture can be
.

Given that fiketto's first set of posts in these forums, and subsequent bashing, was about him kiting at Bondi I think it's a tall order for him to be calling anyone dangerous and/or a kook.
Actually there are far less kiters than there used to be, and thanks to the wonders of 100% depower kites (!) the kites manage to keep the kiters out of trouble most of the time.
Oh no a kite crashed in front of me! Oh the horror! ![]()
Fiketto, perhaps you need to learn a bit more about Australian culture, as seen in the following clip. Warning though for the kiddies it comes with a language warning...
Hahaha awww diddums! Someone crashed a kite in front of you? In Australias largest city?!? Who wouldve thought....
Your claim is about as ridiculous as 'someone dropped in on me at snapper'
it is also hypocritical unless you have never, EVER crashed your kite anywhere near anyone.
If you were THAT good, you would be out in the middle of the bay and nowhere near the beginners/shorehuggers.
You should probably learn how to speak English properly too by the looks of your typing you have a long way to go!
It is unrealistic that someone crashed in front of you. I just cant believe it. I hope it never happens to me. What is wrong with the world! Fark off Im out here to buy an impact vest and some goggles to match...
Since summer is not far off and we're on the topic of Botany Bay and more specifically Dolls Point. I'd like to reinforce our local rules and cautions for Dolls.
Northeast Wind - Southside of the rock groyne
- Enter the water no further north than the new viewing platform. ie not in the corner. Leave this smooth water spot for transitions.
- Assisted launch/landing whenever possible.
- When walking the beach try to keep your kite low.
- Please don't stand about close the waters edge with your kite at 12 o'clock.
- Enter the water promptly after launching.
- When sailing back in - give way to kiters entering the water.
- Roll up lines when not kiting. Stack kites on the beach.
- Dolls is tidal so beware you can lose a board in a matter of minutes. Help out your mates with board recovery or rescues.
- If you kite down near the swimming enclosure in a nor-easter, remember, there is a big wind shaddow down there and your kite will fall out of the sky. Stay up wind of the green channel marker. No one will rescue you south of this mark.
- No teaching on the beach.
- Fly trainer kites well away from launching kites, waters edge and the general public. If you annoy people with a trainer kite you will be courteously asked to move on.
- Respect all beach goers and take care, kiddies about.
- Have a nice day![]()

Lesson #1 - Don't dare complain about w@nker behaviour or every w@nker under the sun will flame you from their cosy little porno viewing pad. ![]()
