The blade at the back gives the killer blow the two side ones do the filleting - the net is not in shot but trails in the water using ultra hydrophobic mesh with an incredibly low drag co-efficient - barely noticeable till you catch a fillet or 2.

how is that photo wrong?
the guys racing in melbourne were battling 40 knt + wind at one stage and waves, staying on a raceboard in 25 knots in medium chop is a struggle at the best of times.
This guy is not trying to jump and look cool he is simply taking on the chop/ waves and staying on.
give us some more pics and go the NSW crew!
I was out (not racing) on my surfboard. I took out my 7m kite because it looked like stronger winds were coming - the South Channel wind showed 30+ knots. I am glad I did, I was out when a 35+ knot squall came through and had to depower my kite.
Most of the racers handled it very well. If it was a yacht race it could have been carnage. I was amazed at how many were racing - it was the most kites I have ever seen at Hampton. Race bibs over PFDs bulk up the riders too, I was feeling a bit under dressed!
Upturned fins on a raceboard could really rip up a kite if it came down on the beach - I saw this nearly happen once when someone was trying to get out past the savage shore break. But mostly everything was under control.
