kitesurfing southern gold coast

Anyone know what the kiting scene is like on the gold coast mainly currumbin to coolangatta.I will be relocating there shortly and looking for any information that may be of use, cheers.

There are heaps of places to kite in that area. You just need to keep away from the swimmers. Kirra, Palm beach are normally fine. Currumbin works out of peak season but during summer there are too many other people in the water. If you head further south to kingscliffe or cuden there is heaps of open beach. Enjoy!

and stay off the tugun/bilinga beaches. kiting is banned along that stretch because of the airport

But no one will say anything....ever...i lived and kited in tugun for a year AND worked at the airport and no one gives a stuff... Crap on a southerly though cos its too off shore... head round the corner to cudgen(sth kingscliff) or head nth to narrowneck...cudgen is a little isolated and reefy so best head nth if your not on your game...choo...
