Hi out there any thoughts . My son is wanting too get into kite surfing aswell he only weighs 35 kg . What size kite would be good and what size trainer kite . Or is it possable too kite surf with a trainer kite. Can you get trainer kites have depower systeme .he is as bad as his dad with addrelin sports . I think it is great farther son thingey.
I'd be careful at that weight - only about 9 years old?
I think there are a few 1.5-2.0m trainer kites around, and you can definitely get good deals on ~4m kites but take it slow - maybe even get him started on a 2-line buzz kite that doesn't load up as much as a trainer. I'm sure there's IKO qualified guys on here that would have some good ideas on how to get started.
kitting as defined in the urban dictionary
A word for a guy who comes off gay, just to get close to girls and then gets in their pants by seducing them. When accomplished, acts like nothing happened and moves on to the next girl leaving the girl think hes a jerkoff.
Thats some 9 year old son you must have
I have an 8 year old grom and he is flying a B2 Slingshot trainer kite. He weighs about 27 kgs and he can hold it till around 15 knots and then i have to hold on to him. I have put a wrist safety leash on it and attached it to the centre of the bar. So if he lets go it eventually crashes to the ground without looping to many times. He is not on the water yet but will probably introduce him to that this summer. Cabrinha brought out a Switchblade 3 4m which would be suitable. Onboard at Glenelg in Sth Oz still have a new one forsale.
Good luck teaching your grom, cheers ![]()
