Hey guys,
Just looking for some insight.
Was out today at Kurnell, enjoying the westerly.
Kite took a crash, and began to fly inverted, where the
canopy was in inside out and the lines were over the top the canopy and leading edge.
Kite tried to relaunch, and the lines tightened over the leading edge.
The kite went "bang" and this is what is left...
What do you think, able to be repaired?
Don't have the $$ for new gear, so wondering if its repairable.
Thanks terry
Unreal. Thanks for the help.
Any ideas who in Sydney is the one to go to? I'm guessing Kite power?
Thanks!
send it to moti levy (google Moti Levy kite repair) he's really good. i tore the leading edge in my last kites (yep both just from sitting on the ground) sent it to him and came back like new. and price is pretty good! all you do is post it, they fix it than post it back. simple![]()
Send it to Moti levy, this kind of damage is better with an internal and external patch ,if you've got some spare material in your kites repairs kit send that so you've a match in materials and colour, he did a near identical repair for me and I could hardly tell he charge about 100 with bladder repairs don't stress shell b right
i did that once and gave it to my local, took them a month to send to moti. better off sending it to him yourself. go to his website and fill out the damage form and make sure to place it with the kite. last time i just sent the kite not the bag. just get the big brown paper postal bags and if you need use 2 if one isnt big enough. make sure you have your mobile number on the form aswell.
I used "TEAR-AID" (Type A) tape to fix a similar bladder blow-out. TEAR-AID is available online and from selected kite shops. A roll 5 feet x 3 inches costs about $30-40. Clean the bladder with rubbing alcohol (isopropanol) prior to patching.
