I saw this in the news section
www.seabreeze.com.au/News/Kitesurfing/Massive-mega-boost-on-Maui_4835317.aspx

In the early days this was a big part of the sport and everyone in their progression wanted to go big .it doesn't seem so as much anymore .Hopefully this kind of thing on a kite that as they say you wouldn't think was supposed to do this stuff will help inspire

Well come down to squids one 30knot day over winter Lach and lets get inspired and have a jump fest and give the abbs a work out

I promise no one will end up on the pacific hwy or in the power wires or dragged up on the rocks

Even though the comp scene doesn't seem to fussed by these sort of moves, I gaurantee at every local spot around the country there are always heaps of people with a grin from ear to ear when they get higher than they ever have before, even the boys that have slippers on their boards to keep thier toes warm enjoy going big every now and then and get a buzz, they just don't tell there forum buddies

When ever a non kiter comes up to you on the beach they never ask how many handle passes you do, they ask how high can you go on one of those things

Only a rook (kiter or not) would ask that question.

Remember what it felt like when you first started learning, the stoke you felt, the need to get back out there and have another go?
To most of us it still feels the same after 2 years or even 10 years!

No mater what form of kitesurfing you do we all share that common stoke, it is the same buzz, don't ever forget that sir ROWDY, you can't take it away from anyone whether their straped or strapless, boots or skimboard, TT or surf, boost or handle pass, race or cruise, young or old, even the dissapointment of no wind or the smile after a good session says it all, it's all good we are all hooked even if your unhooked

If it was a contest and you had to judge everyone on enthusiasm and passion you would give us all 10 points and declare us all equal winners

Ooookkkkkk haha. I don't really understand why you said that but I agree with what you said, it's all about catching the stoke! Whether it be kiting related or not. And trust me I won't forget it My life revolves around getting stoked.

p.s. I was meerly pointing out no one ever asks "how many handlepasses can do?", and if they do it is most likely that they are a rookie.

I know you got the same stoke man you got nearly 3000 post on here!
But I am sure you would agree that sometimes you guys that are more skilled with technical abilities are sometimes a little quick off the mark to diss others less gifted and forget that us ordinary folk enjoy the more simple things just as much!

Catch on the water and keep gettin the stoke .........

I'm not sure about that. I am definitely down for anyone getting stoked, Whether it be someone riding for the first time or landing that trick you have been trying for ages, that kind of stuff gets me amped. Doing as many handlepasses as you can is just retarded though haha.

Sending an overpowered 7m is one of the best feelings you could ever experience, there's no two ways about it.

Demoed a new model kite at the end of the season, thanks Nigel Cassidy. Sent it and went over the top of my mates canopy, rookies or experienced riders all shared my stoke. A big jump will always remain one of the things that will keep me in this sport.
Try watching one of those PKRA thingys on Channel One, boring as, yet everyone cheers when one of the guys goes big. If you want to concentrate on only riding wakestyle why not just buy a boat?

Only once you land it...

In related news why is it a massive mega boost? At what point is a boost massive, and then mega? Just asking...

because a decent boat is 100k.. kiting kit is 2k 98k difference made the decision easy.

oh and why not just rad and do both

and majority of riders on here probably can't handle a good boat session.

but boosting is fun when you're absolutely maxed out. i'll admit it.

If you want to concentrate on jumping massive why don't you buy a paraglider?

See it's the same retarded argument nobody really cares at the end of the day how other people ride, as long as everyone has a good time it just doesn't matter in the slightest

^^^^^'cos that would "gliding" not "jumping"... or should we call boosting "parastyle"?

personally i don't get wake style. why go small and twisty when you can go HUGE. But each to there own. the wake stylers definatly have skills in a dizzying kinda rotating way.

I also presume if yourve boosted huge for years you could probably get bored with endless float. in that case i see the enthusiasm towards something different.

me i like to go fast and jump fast and long. the faster the longer the floatier the better. even better when i can time it with a super smooth pillowy soft but high speed landing. that puts a grin on my face.

30 odd meters on the land jumping boulders feels amaising and 50+ meters on the water and landing on a wave face is also the wholy grail for me. Can't say i've pulled those off that often but when i do. the grin lasts for 2-3 days.

i did this real sweet jump about a month ago on the 11m edge. wind was abit fickel and instantly pulled up to maybe 25 knots from 16-18 i was already going fast and the edge builds speed real fast with aparent wind. i had the kite low and it was like a turbo boost instant mega speed. there was some surfers about 80 meters away towards the beach. i sent the kite at the peak of my speed and whamo some good height and re-directed hard and got a sweet glide and landed about 20 meters away from the surfers (slightly down wind they weren't in danger).

The surfers loved it they were yelling and whooping. must have looked insane from a surfers eye veiw. Certainly felt good from mine.
