Mate, you lost me after 5 seconds. Launching on a beach crowded with families is not doing any of us a favour.

Maybe the video got better but not a good start.........

Calm down mate it was an assisted, well controlled launch... I'm sure he filled out his JSEA and launch method statement prior...
Looked like a fun sesh but I reckon the trees had more to worry about than the people...

Nice Vader
Wished you had included your dark slide trick in the video
I'm still trying to figure it out / pluck up the courage to do it.

More importantly, launching in a situation like that, I expect that you would have your full AKSA insurance in place.
Looks can be deceiving, but with that camera angle, it looked like it had disaster written all over it.

As for the video, great effort, but.....
I may be getting a little cynical, but I really can't get excited about somebody mowing the lawn with a go pro on their head.
It's like watching grass grow, (sort of a pun there)

good effort mate! I hope to be at this level by the end of this season...

For next time though (please take this as constructive feedback) maybe you should film from some different angles here and there. Maybe even film some other awesome kiters or try and create the beachy atmosphere by filming some summerish shots? Mix it up a little. bit of kiting, maybe a nice sundown/up, bit of laughter with some friends, some more kiting etc etc.

yeah that location looks pretty average. chop, chop and more chop!...
i want waves or flat. chop is useless to me. i'd rather be landboarding if its only chop.

I wanted to sea a jump over the rock wall. that would have been good to see.

If you are going to put your work out into the public arena, you gotta be up for the reality check.
That's the good thing about this place, (supposedly) you are meant to be able to say what you want (within reason) and if it offends somebody it's their problem.

Reality makes us better at what we do.
If we don't know that what we are doing is not up to spec, how can we fix it.
Either that or we can continue along in your delusional state. (you're choice)

I am sure Spielberg got a few bad reviews before he got it right.

Can I suggest Bunnings and a bag of Rapid Set and then get on with it.

it was a bit repeadative bro. at the very least you needed different angles to vid the same stuff. I think even though some of the advice is harsh its accurate.
take that advice and make a better id next time.
look for different angle. only make it a couple of mins long if your doing the same stuff. mix it up with random shiz.

ps People will all ways complain. even if you uploaded a vid of kitelooping over train unhooked with a naked supermodel on your back.

Like I said earlier, you're entitled to your opinion, and its my problem if I get upset or accept your observation.

my observation is it looks like you have a problem.
Remedy, Go back to the bit about going to Bunnings.

Mate, thats not crowded, seriously!! Dolls point is smack bang in the middle of one of Australia's biggest, most populous cities, there is nearly always a bit of a crowd there.
Stu is a well know local who is very courteous and careful, as are 99% of the locals, we all assist each other to launch and land and most of the people hanging around are there to watch the kites anyway, the council even built a viewing platform in front of the kite eating trees.
Sure its a bit choppy, no worse than heaps of places I've visited, and there are actually some very nice flat spots too, we just don't mention them on here

I don't think its that crowed either ,Looks like a normal day on the northern beaches were im from . It might have been better to launch from the shore (water side) if it was me .

Other people on the beach is an unfortunate reality of kiting in Sydney I think. There are so few flat water options. Botany is the main one and nearly always packed like that. I am a complete noob, and still-**** myself when launching around people in the fear of stuffing up, but there are no other options here that I know of. I have also kooked around at fishermans beach which has a tiny launch area often covered in people.

I am not very experienced, and avoid high winds, but have had no trouble getting the kite up to 12 or out over the water quickly. How often are there problems on assisted launch, and what are the things to look out for (besides the obvious check and re-check your lines before launching)?
