Joe here from Adrenalin Rush Sports in Mackay (1.5hrs drive South).
There are a few crew in that area. The best location local to you is Conway beach, fairly shallow murky water and is at the mouth of the Proserpine river. There are better spots, but is the closest to you in Airlie. 60 km to the North is Bowen which has some great riding locations also. Then there is Mackay which has heaps of options. Most of the dedicated crew from Airlie drive down to Mackay for the weekend to get their riding fix.

In Mackay we get some sick little waves also. Only happens when its 15-25knots but there are a huge number of wave riders here.
