Hi freedomtrail,

Yes, there was a problem with one of the dies that press the valves onto the leading edge Bladder. Some of the first batch of kites in 2011 were effected. We have replaced many of the effected kites and repaired some of the early ones. We have had no problems with some, and some others had issues immediately.

As a precaution, Ozone has called a safety recall, despite it not really being a safety issue. If you have a 2011 kite and are unsure about whether your kite is effected, contact your local dealer with your serial number. Ozone has sent out replacement bladders for EVERY effected kite.

Now that's how you run a company.

No questions asked. If only I felt the love when I bought my slingshot link.

They should have put that notice up earlier. I had two valves go out of 3 of my kites. Got it sorted immediately by the dealer, no troubles at all since and loving the kites

To be fair it took some time to identify, precisely, which kites were affected, and then the notice went out. In the interim, cases like yours were handled on an individual basis and as quickly as humanly possible. I know Darren, Mike, Jon, Myself, have all changed bladders for customers and will continue to provide any affected bladders free of charge.
I'm not aware of anyone in Oz thats had to sacrifice a session due to this issue, we the dealer network will soon have the spares to take care of any that crop up in the future.
