Well got to the beach today to be greated with marginal wind and small but clean swell.

Threw the 13m edge up not expecting much from the conditions to find myself perfectly powered. Oh yeah. had nice little flat spots between perfect 1-3 foot ramps.

Whats more a go wind againts current in the shallows.

So I could crank upwind in 4" of water. scrank up to speed on the flat and bam. pull the trigger hittings those perfect little ramps hard. float.... float.... look at my shaddow screaming across the water. float some more...... redirect.... buttery soft landing ... oh yeah.
Then catch on the next wave face fang upwind.

Rinse and repeat. Good times. Good times!

On one of those boosts i was coming in hot right on the next wave face. Fish pole the bar and downloop landing transition on the wave ... NICE.

ahh.. Thats why i kiteboard. dang its fun.

I've had a hard look and only the graphics and aramid bridles, which you can buy to put on your 2012, to bring it up to 2013 spec, I was also told this by an ozone dealer, I was quoted $100 for the set

... I had a look at the '12 and '13 17m edge and they look different to me. Strut shape was definetely different and the angles attached to leading edge also looked different so the kite appeared to be shorter or thicker in the middle (not sure if you would call this lower aspect), as if more surface area. Plus the LE looked as if it were thinner at the ends of the kite so maybe it turns quicker because of it, dunno for sure til I see them togeather again.

Personally I'm not really a fan of the kites feel but results sure do speak for themselves and the '13 sure do look nicer than my favorite kites too.

Anyway, just an observation I've made.

cheers,

Robbie

well funny you should say.... damp hair! ... but i did also jump on the landboard and finish the session off with some 50+ kph speed runs... so that could have dried my hair.!
