I need to find out more on epoxy paint for home made kitesurf board.
plywood to be used is suitable for marine conditions / F14 x 16mm thk
surface to cover will be .84m2 each side approx.( one off board)
What is the best value / price for epoxy paint?
who can I get it from and at what size of tin?
I plan to make 3 kitesurf boards from a single sheet of 2.4 x 1.2 plywood sheet, so it may be best to buy large tin, say to cover sheet 2 or 3 times / Total area = 11.5 m 2 up to 17.3m2

I used Bote-Cote Aquacote water based paint. It's very tough and easy to use.
Apply with the blue gloss paint rollers from Bunnings.
Avoid sanding it. The paint finish is too hard.
Don't put too much paint on. It gets heavy.
its marine ply yeah?
any epoxy cr@p that will go on the bottom of a 1950's sailing boat will do.
your only decision is the colour[}:)]
I have half a big tin of bright yellow epoxy you can have for free.![]()
I used a 1 x 500ml Epoxy Resin tin with 250ml Hardener, on a 2:1 Epoxy system by Norglass. Cost about $50 through Bias Boating. It did 3 coats both sides of my board. If you are going to use any fibreglass, the matting will absorb more, and you will need about twice as much to complete the job.
The bigger the tin the cheaper it becomes. If you are building 3 x boards in one hit then get a bigger tin.
When laminating the plywood together i used epoxy glue, But am lead to believe you could you the resin by using a filler to thicken it out, so you dont have to buy 2 x different products. But havent done this so not sure if i am correct.
I used a 6mm sheet of standard plywood (2 x layers). - Marine ply costs too much money and if you are going to epoxy coat it then it will become waterproof anyway.

in my experience epoxy is not necessary, any latex (acrylic) paint will do, doesn't even need to be exterior as board is not exposed to UV / or in in water for more than a few hours at a time.
For my last board I found a tung oil based floor covering worked well - inexpensive easy to get good finish with brush and easy to touch up any scratches with a quick sand and re coat.
Use: Megapoxy 132. It's a 2:1 ratio resin that has plenty of work time, it will flex with the board. It can be coloured with diffrent pigments to get the colour you want and has no solvents in it. 3lt will cover around 15m2 two coats and costs about $66.00.
I've repaired Kiteboards, Sailboards and supply the same epoxy for boat and surfboard building.
What state are you in?
If you just want a epoxy paint track down Megapoxy MC. 4lt kits cost around $88.00 and come in white, grey, blue and black. The kit will cover around 25m2 1 coat.
