Hey there
So I'm jumping and my lower stomach mussle is hurting on the lower right side.
I'm thinking its poor jumping technique (as I'm only a intermediate kiter) some are saying its the cold water some are sayig old age and many are saying just harden the f##k up.
But seriously has anyone else expeirenced this or is it a hernia on the way.
Cheers
Horey
probably due to lack of use of your abs and then now using them when you jump. after hours of boosting you will get sore stomach muscles.
Djdojo,
Thanks for the advice and the voice of reason I'll practice so different techniques and see how its turns out.
Good winds
Personally I never had problems with abs, although I used to bust out like 50 jumps per sesh. ![]()
But if you are the less athletic type and want a "pussy solution", you could also go with a seat harness.
It brings some other downsides, like a bit less freedom of motion, edging ability not as good, and a bit of a weird feeling in jumps cause you are kind of sitting in a sling.
But it is gonna be easier on the abs, and most of all on the lower back.
And especially if your edging ability is not great you should be able to jump a bit higher with a seat harness, because you could just lean back and use your bodyweight to counteract the power of the kite.
Which is however not a good technique, so if you are serious about progressing, keep the waist harness and htfu! ![]()
The soreness is gonna go away quickly anyway as the body gets used to the new task.
Grant ..... come on man ..... old age????? HTFU! (Thats from me and Henry) I reckon its just coz you to tall.
and knutH....unathletic pussy in a seat harness. That hurts.
and djdojo ..... lighten up bro but you are correct in one thing ......scoccer players need to harden up a heap!!! (you can't say the f word or you will get red carded and sent off.)
Although it is hard to look tuff when your wearing an Alice band and you only weigh 60 kgs. And if you try to be tuff and you are not .. you will get knocked off your purch by a girl anyway ..... just ask Kevin.
Scoccer needs a 3rd umpire before anyone can take it seriously.
Comon the Kiwi's.....
funny how they got screwed over by italian theatrics as well. What do the Italians have against the ANZST's !!!
hahaha nah first session after a few weeks without kiting always pull up sore especially in the guts. just gota get out more and use those muscles more frequently.
lots of pre season situps . i have found if you simulate pulling your legs to past 90 degrees whilst your body weight is supported by your elbo`s on a vertical abb stand you will benefit from this .
"Perhaps soccer players who fall down squealing after an opposing player brushes their elbow should harden up a bit but if you're really in pain and the best your friends can offer is HTFU, then I'd look elsewhere for advice, and friends."
Unlike RUGBY players that fake injuries?
Just cause some arseholes (mainly Italians it seems) cheat I wouldn't brand ALL soccer players wimps. I ve got mates that have lost toes playing football. I grew up in scandinavia and played football in -15 all winter long up to my knees in snow and on ice. we had to shoot metal in our studs to be able to play in those conditions.
a few nasty injuries occurred (see above) so calling the entire sport pussies is slightly upsetting after all I ve been through.
Rant over. two weeks to go and Im in QLD where the sun shines and the WIND BLOWS!
Eric
not calling them all pussies (and rugby players do not put on the performance these guys do ...they may fake a cramp to slow the game up a bit , but thats about it) I am sure there are a few hard nuts out there. But if the world cup is to be decided on who takes the best dive. AKA Italy last time round ( good riddens...... yeah go home pussies) then the game has no credibility. If a 3rd umpire was used and 10 min sinbin penalties(or sending off for unsportsmanlike behaviour) for diving (they could have a nice pink fluffy cage for a sin bin it would go nice with the Alice band.) it might make the game worth watching. I watched Ronaldo the other night ....what an unbelievable talent skills wise ...so why does he take dives.
I couldn't play the game for fear of committing grievous bodily harm to the refs!. Talk about little Hitlers. I cannot watch anymore of the world cup..... it is just a joke.
Have you hardened up yet Grant????
Hey
This happened to me once - it felt like I had pulled a muscle or something. I found that the best way to heal it was to have plenty of rest and stay away from the water for a week or so. That should do it.
