had to do one at s/passage had not done one for 5 years
roll the lines, jump on the mattress, surfboard was fine had a leggy on.
then just layed there and sailed her in a very relaxing way to finish the day off
so just a note dont stress when self rescuing
A mate self-rescued once. He was happily sitting there sailing along making the same sort of speed and upwind angle as a small dinghy.
He had a raceboard and used it as an outrigger fin and leaned out on it a bit like heeling a boat.
the most stressful bit can be untangling your lines afterwards... depending on how well you executed the self rescue.
I'm thinking south passage to the beach would be kinda lonely and intimidating as a self-rescue
how far up the beach did you come in?
Had a snooze one time coming in from the back of hells, it was blowing that hard I came ashore upwind of my launch spot. Belive it or not!
