So apparently yesterday there was someone in the pond riding a grey north rebel being a complete tossbag, short tacking everyone and jumping on top of everyone, long story short he was being a liability. And from what i recall it's not the first time.
When some of the guys told him that he needs to be more careful and start paying attention, he even threw a punch at them, one of the guys was Jason and the other a german friend of mine that was pulled on the ground and jumped, with the kite in the air and his bindings still on. Real manly way of having a fight. Oh yeah and he claims to be a local apparently.

Now if you're on here reading this know that you're not welcome in the pond anymore unless you decide to leave your anger issues at home, we're all here to have a good time. For everybody else don't take any s**t from people like this.

I saw that, couldn't believe someone would act that way, spoiled the afternoon really. I think he might be going to get some lessons on manners real soon....

"He even threw a punch at them"

Be responsible and good to all kiters by sorting things out now with witness names and a police complaint so it is at least on record with them (police), not forum. There is no room for that kind of **** whatever verbal crap/ lack of space to play with your own toys was going down.

If you let it lie others will have to deal with this **** again and it could just get worse. The absolute worst thing about it is as was said above, brings just about the worst vibe to the awesome sport that is kiteboarding that you could ever have. Ruin sessions, ruin good vibes, ruin the public perception of kiters/goodwill.

Experienced localism/aggression in surfing once ever (south shore maui...) for about 10 mins until we had a good chat and it ended in "have a good session", never in kiting before. Sad...

Of course this is all circumstantial opinion based on internet gossip. Everyone make friends and go session!

Holy moly!!!

Rigged up right where Jason and a few guys seemed to be talking about some douche out there. Must have just missed it, may have even been a guy coming in on a rebel as I launched (?).. bad stuff.

Jason is as local as you can be and is always trying to sort out the trash, keep things on track..

Karma's a b1tch!!

On a brighter note, I think it must have been Leo Loro out doing some surfboard freestyle (he was also one of the guys standing with Jason), something different to see down at the pond

Anyways, oblivious to the dramas.. I had a sick session yesterday down there, nice steady breeze, awesome sunset.. and dinner ready when I got home

Trust me mate if i had names i would make them, i only know what he looks like, what kite he flies and what car he drives.

That was well out of line. If he's clever he's gonna stay at a safe distance from the pond.

Damn would have liked to see that....on another note wish I was there to 'help out'. Consider jason a mate, anyone throws a punch at a mate, they get one back until someone stops me...

yeh I'm bit like a loyal dog I know. Sick em rover...

Well he fights like he kites by the sound of it...

Disgrace. Imo the best way to deal with a d-ckhead like this is by collective show of force. Not violence, just a show of numbers. Make it obvious he's not welcome.

He probably learned that behaviour here as when windsurfers complain about it, apparently WE are the wankers and the above behaviour is OK???

Hey guess what, news flash: some places have bans now.

EDIT: c'mon redthumbs people you know i am right. Years ago windsurfers raised the same issues about the rogue element and we were all abused and shouted down. That shows tacit acceptance of the behaviour - and now you all whine about it like you were not given a heads up by the responsible crew waaay back? lol

I'm always at work when **** goes down[}:)].
there is always some tool carrying on.
if you kite In the Pond
DONT Short tack
DONT teach your girlfriend, there are better safer spots around the corner
DONT Be a ****WIT

This is stress relief for ME and most others.
Dont turn it into surfing with localism as it is a good social sport, but not when all the locals are pissed off because of some tool.

We don't have those problems at Botany bay, we have the sheriff...

He does make trips to WA every so often, maybe you should set him up with a short term "contract hit job"

So heartening to see a single person so stoked to **** on the enjoyment of so many even tho it is all a crock of ****. With name and address withheld very suspicious - someone looking to fill in the pond and build a hotel?
