wondering whether to flush out the salt after getting water in the LE.

i figure salt crystals are potentially damaging, and are hygroscopic anyway so ongoing moisture issues

but fresh water can introduce mould spores.

also dont really want to remove the bladder unnecessarily.

any thoughts?

cheers

pump it up to medium... turn upside down over valve - air pressure will blow most of it out after a few goes..

Just run some fresh water into the bladder a couple of litres is plenty, swish from end to end with about 75% inflation.
While still inflated to about 75% and raise the tips so that the dump valve is the lowest point, then open the dump valve.
Inflate the kite fully, leave it inflated in a warm place for a few hrs, then raise tips and have the dump valve be the lowest point again then dump the air, there probably will not be any water left it should have evaporated into the air in the bladder that was just exhausted.
If any liquid water came out, pump the kite up and repeat the process, it will all be gone after a second inflate and dump.

The best method is to hang the bladders outside dry for at least two weeks in a sunny area. Then put then in an oven (on a tray) for 2 hours on about 60deg c.
Then pump them up to 50psi (dont worry they can take it when there not in the kite)
Then leave the bladders pumped up for a week or two then your good to go.
