snowkiting in Japan - apologies for a bit offtopic

Hi folks,
again, apologies if this is not the right place - it was reccommended to me that I post this query to this forum - and I think I can see why!

In any case, I'm living in japan, and not being a great gun with the kite - I still wanted to try out some snowkiting with it. Unfortunatly, I don't speak japanese very well and information about the best places - or indeed ANY places, is hard to come by.

So I thought I'd open it up to people who might know - has anyone tried much snowkiting in japan - and if so, where did you go? was it good/bad/lousy - should I just ship my kite back home and hang onto the snowboard?

Looking forward to your suggestions.

I was at a.s.h.a.t.a.k.i (not sure on the spelling) on the north isalnd, didnt have the kite but wished i did. Open area near the volcano and lift acces up. It was very open spot with soft snow and blow 20 knots

p.s. the .... in the name are because the forum though i was swearing
