I'm going to newcastle for work this week and staying at stockton beach caravan park. its looking like we might get rained off the job so i am hoping to get a kite in.
can someone please fill me in on any local rules? is the whole beach fair go? reefs? rocks? rips?

same as a normal beach i guess - if you have a 4x4 you can get someone to drive it down the beach with you .. nice downwinder, just dont stop kiting rather fast. kiting on the sand spit on the northern side of fingal is cool too in a NE
you will need a 10 buck pass from the servo to go on the beach
It's an awesome spot but just don't fall off and be careful with wind direction. Beach faces almost dead south so in a nor'easter it's pretty much dead offshore.
Unless you go out from Birubi Beach on the far north end or by Newcastle on the south, you'll need a 4WD for beach access.
Just about the shark capital of the world. No one ever been attacked that that I know of but it is teaming with white pointers and tiger sharks.
