Hey guys, had my kite bag, pump and 2 slingshot trainer kites stolen out of my car the other day. The bag is a purple 11.5 best kahoona back pack kite bag and the pump was a red slingshot one also.
Happened at corrimal east carpark near wollongong while i was out on monday. I have a feeling it may have been this guy that came down and asked for help with an ancient lime green naish kite that belongs in a museum. he wasnt a kiter but asking for help with this one he bought on ebay. only noticed when i cleaned out my car on wednesday to find they werent there and the pump belonged to my mate who i thought had collected it when i dropped him home. If you see someone with a purple kite bag, quite a good one, would appreciate a message or for you to ask about it, but its a pretty long shot
cheers guys
Not good. a Kiters was car stolen on news years day this year, from that carpark. Havent heard of gear stolen from a car though. was the car locked or did they break in.
Ill look out for your gear.
That is dissapointing. I have been leaving my pump + bag on the beach for the last 6 years? I guess that means all those who leave extra boards on the beach should be careful too? It was only a matter of time... I will keep an eye out.
Easties carpark is a known theft area, hence the NRMA warning sign at entrance. If you pump up next to carpark and leave gear in car,but take 2boards to beach, leaving one unattended on sand while in water, over the years that spare board is known to go walkabout, deliberately or innocently especially late arvo when it appears that it has no owner.
Yeah certain the car was locked but its an old volvo so wouldnt surprise me if its easy to get into. Just glad i took both of my kites down to the beach. I was there one day when a surfers car was taken too. Some people are just ****. Could have been worse i guess. I Could have been the one with a ****ty 90s naish kite...
Towradgi Dave is right, Easties has been a high theft area for years. It has been know that the thieves watch from their car, wait for you to go then hit up where your keys are. The best investment I made was the purchase of a key lock from Seabreeze. Kitepower have them too. For around $ 50/60 you can have some piece of mind when you hit the water. Sorry to hear about the rip off.
