What custom or production surfboards are you kiting with???? What do you think of them?? What conditions does it suit??
Im riding a 6'1 stu martin rounded pin tailed poly board... good board for most conditions especially fast down the line... i love the fact that it never skips out on big bottom turns no matter how hard you push
i am ridin a firewire alternator, 6'2, love it, awesome board. It turns sweet, bit loose when you want it too be and rides the waves beautifully. Also holds down massive wind when it happens :) bein this is my first surf board i would recommend it to anyone :)
North Rocket Fish (08' model) 509 strapped and Al Merrick Flyer II 601 unstrapped (but it's dying and have an Aloha 601 to replace it).
Stoked on both of the boards.
The North is bullet proof and is the last of John Amundson's shapes for North-he's a great shaper-works unreal in macking wind and waves.
Al Merrick is great as an all around kite/surfboard-nice and loose and fast-being a poly board made for surfing it's now dying from the kiting abuse.
Rode the new Naish Global 6.0 today felt nice a bit driver than last years seems really strong( free feel from 10 feet straight on to it and not a mark) quad set up, little bit of tail kick all in all felt good. Must admit i haven't kited that much lately and i was a bit rusty. Yes i am sponsored by Naish and sell naish gear best bet is get in to a shop and demo a few boards as what works for me might not work for all!!! also have a 5'8 fish I'll try in the coming days and let everyone know my thoughts. Global suits 2 to 10 foot windy waves if you want a fast board for big power turns then the naish guns are perfect i tow surf and kite them when the waves are fast and over 8ft
