This arvo, landed a transition badly, kite hit the water, valve popped open and kite quickly deflated.
Thanks to the guy on the foil at brighton who dragged me in. saved my ass from a long heavy swim in. and refused beer as thank you
any tips on the best way to get the water out of my bladder? kite is heavy as **** at the moment. was thinking of inflating, then flipping over and deflating.
any better ideas?
lightly inflate (just to open the bladder up a bit), fold the kite in half (inside out) along the centerline of the dump valve and hang it up so the valve is the lowest part of the kite, leave it this way for a while (few hours) and then open the valve and again leave it hanging for a couple of hours. This method has worked for me in the past but depends a little on the valve type.
try keep your struts locked off to prevent water getting in there too.
Blue print is on the money, best way i found was to do as blueprint said and hang kite tips up high( patio or clothes line) and ensure the valve is the lowest point facing the ground. dont be scared to leave it for a few days to really dry out.
and if you do have water in the struts, they almost never will drain through the one pump hoses. you will probably have to remove them and drain the struts separately
thanks guys.
did blueprints method, got about 1L out of the leading edge
thankfully little if any got in the struts
cheers
