cant remember your name but man i was nice enough to give you a van for free so you didnt have to sell your kit, Like i said if it was to much work thats fine but the least you could have done was take the plates in so didnt get a $250 fine ![]()
It's not worth trying to be nice these days. People just ram you as hard as they can if you show a bit of generosity.
I'm guessing they've dumped it?
what about me i gave a car to a victorian and he left at the airport// 3 months later the feds want me for dumping a car at airport// terrorrism implied
I've got a good one to. I gave a mate of a mate my old van on a long term loan and the bastard told me that he couldn't get it re-registered and left it at a wreckers. Found out down the track that he sold it to a Canadian backpacker for $1000 bucks! Prick
Hey I gave a car to a mate cause it had done 360K and was leaking oil all over my driveway. He took it to another mate and paid him to fix the leaks - not cheap. Drove it around for 6 months and then sold it to the wreckers for more than the cost of the repairs.
As for the $250 dollar fine - bastard - but better than Benz being nabbed as a terrorist (plus the parking fee), and just possibly a relatively cheap life lesson. For many, something that costs nothing is worth nothing, or did I just hear someone say 'free lunch'?
i guess you never filled out that little slip at the end of the rego papers say notice of disposal that you just drop into the rta?
well in nsw they have that
You are not gonna be a prick for the rest of your days because some low life wanker screwed you.
Mate, givin away your car was a choice thing to do and you are loaded up with good Karma, keep it flowing and there will be plenty of great sessions coming your way![]()

Sounds like this Ben Grace blokes owes a couple of people on this forum...
I reckon things might be going to turn full circle on him.
In a similar vein, I had a RX7 a few years back, rotor went and mechanic bought it off me for $800. Gave him the rest of the paperwork to sort out the change of ownership. He didn't do it and must have been driving it around with no exhaust, because I got a letter from the EPA. I just faxed them the contact details of the guy I sold the car to.
The point is most of the time you can explain what happened and the regulators will actually go after the right guy.
strange how the world changes.........when I was a young malcontent, i decided to do a trip to Melbourne from Canberra. So i left my morrie at the rail station car park and took the train. In Melb having a good time, partying and whoring an playing a bita BB, decided to stay on a bit. The end of the season and my return, three months later. Morrie still where i had left it, tyres a bit soft, need a push to start, rego still current, a clean of the windscreen and life went on................![]()
Nah bro you did a very generous thing. Simply make sure he gets the fine and that he changes plates...then all goes back to normal...i suppose.
dude thats awsome. Ill give the dpi a call and see if i can get the fine off.. sux it got stolen.. did ya ever get the problem fixed up?
Hey Ben,
