Alright lets try and rescue this thread a bit.

I went to the cocos for a 10 day tour at the start of August and it was quite simply one of the best holidays i have been on in my life and the best kiting holiday by a long way (Zanzibar had the honor previously). The islands are incredibly picturesque, i think it would be impossible for someone to not like the scenery. Coconut trees, clean sand, clear water, great wildlife and great weather.

The weather was fantastic with 9/10 days blowing 15+ knots. Upon arrival i was only just cruising around on the board, after 7 days (stuffed my rib and had to have a couple of days off) of kiting basically from 9 - 12 then 2 -5 i was landing decent jumps consistently. Perfect place for a learner or a pro, couldn't ask for better conditions. Jen, Al, Kelly, Jake and Rosso are a fantastic bunch of people who made every minute there a pleasure. Lots of good social events for the evenings and some interesting characters at the pub.

Highlight was the down winders to the airstrip. Riding along with massive sea turtles passing under your board and seeing reef sharks dart about is a memory i won't forget in a hurry. Also some awesome snorkeling at the rip if you need a break from kiting.

Great trip, great people, great location and i really couldn't fault it. Few pictures of the place below. Whilst i have sold some pictures to the guys i can assure you it in no way effects my opinion of the place, it was paradise.

That was the start of a race, was never crowded there.

Editing was done with Lightroom.

44 sessions on 11 m Edge ???

Reads like armchair kiting! Did the wind ever get above 17knots?

Wind speed is average, as measured at kite beach.
Generally it's 1 to 2 knots more off the beach.
Measured using Windtronic II meter.
26 sessions measured 17 knots average or above.
Strongest sessions were measured at 21 knots average.
That's real knots average not bull**** guesstimates or maximum gusts.

+1. If I go away to kite, I want 25++ kts every day. Otherwise I may as well be at home.

Looks nice a mint location though.
