gday reo users
i have an 8 and a 10 mtr reo
i ride only in the surf and ride my normal surfboards strapless
the rear lines have been shortend under the floats
This setup goes amazing on the 8
whilst on the 10 it seems to want to lift me of the board a little at times
i just read on a random post the 10 should be on the last knot (in turn making the lines longer)
any thoughts or preferences or do other peoples 10s do this to.
will also do the obvious and try the other setting but surf is to good rite now, sundys looking pritty good for a kite though.![]()
should add am only new to the reos bought them 2nd hand compared to my old kite these things are awsome.
any other findings on the in and outs of them is welcome
A multi knot setting on your front pitails can finely tune your kite, I've used this to great effect on my edges and catalysts letting me on the water in seriously strong winds, also helps in reverse letting you maximize the wind, you can over do it a bit and risk stalling your kite, I've just used the provided tails and put a couple of knots at exact same positions
I am running all 3 kites on the longest line length. Trying the middle knot under the floats but personally have so far found the kites too stally for my liking. Will keep trying a few more times though.
Agree with Kitepower. Front lines carry all the load & it's quite common to find them stretched to 100mm longer than rear lines. So forget about getting advice on which knot to use. After tuning the lines, it still comes down to the feel that suits you anyway.
