Hi guys,
I know you can kite with wakeboard bindings but can you wakeboard on a kite board with kite board bindings? Or would the power of the boat pull you out of the bindings?
We're just hiring a boat around christmas and I would like to go wake boarding behind it but i'm lacking the board.
pretty silly question... you can ride a wakeskate behind a boat...
obviously you can ride a kiteboard behind a boat too... Personally when behind a boat I don't like big fins... but riding a kiteboard is no problemo
Yeah works no prob, just don't try anythin too stupid. Much easier to catch an edge and if one foot comes out you can wreck yourself!
General riding around though all good
You need a heap of rocker if your going to wakeboard behind a wakeboat and also wakeboards much stiffer.
Personally I've never had any success and it just pissed me off the one I tried mine.
May be able to pull it off in a seriously wakestyle kite board with heaps of width, rocker and stiffness.
Best of luck
I wouldnt bother trying, unless you just want to ride only. Dont try to hit the wake, as kite boards have very little rocker so they cut thru the wake which usually ends up in a injury.
Also the the combination of large fins and no rocker means a board that will catch an edge soo easily, have fun with that!
i go out most week ends when there is no wind with my kite board behind boat is really good fun IT IS NOT WAKE boarding but you can still have a lot of fun . i have access to skis ,disk ,kneeboards, wake boards, surf boards planks of wood , but i always just grab my kite board maybe because iam and old fart and slowing down but is a real good feeling cutting through glass water on it . Yes you can do wake style tricks jump the wake i have no probs other than what has been said before about rocker but all you have to do is lean back more and keep the front edge up . try it with no fins a lot of fun is like drifting but i would if you can get some old fins and cut them down as the fins are really big to do switch takes a lot of effort but doable at a slower speed we all like crusing around the 15-20 mph seems like a nice speed for them .
As others have said, watch out for catching an edge.
It's just one way to learn one of lifes lessons.... "a faceplant is not a vegetable" ![]()
Have fun ![]()
Did it last New Years at Rotto, worked fine.
As others have said it's not wakeboarding, good luck trying to switch stance...
But it is loads of fun ![]()
