There are several agruments regarding kiting locations, kitemares and the subsequent risk of bans at our favourite spots. The common demoninator and scapegoat seems to be the noob, and perhaps rightfully so....according to the experinced kiters. There are some locations deemed unsuitable for the noob, and some that are perfect e,g melvile. What i would like to know is exactly how do you classify a noob before you deem them a "danger" to others.

Does Noob = no kite experience
or = Can fly and body drag
or = can ride but havent got the transition down
or = got the transition down but a little bit sketchy and a chance to drop the kite
or = got the twinny sussed so having a go on the SB and find myself in the middle of the zone unable to get up therefor becoming a noob like liability

My point is that unless you ar a seasoned kiter (which i am not) then in the name of progress should you not be constantly trying new things which could go pear shaped given the elements involved in the sport. Sure common sense should prevail and sometimes it just does not as we all know.

When have you passed the noob stage, when is it safe for you to leave the learner pond and join the rest?
