after 2 years of cursed la nina and generally crap wind we have received 3 days of cross onshore conditions which is the first time this has happened for god knows how long.(plus there was a bit of swell)To whoever has paid the debt to have the curse lifted thanks .look at this ,it is pure joy seening redlines
Also thanks to Best for the 13.5 Kahoona an awesome wave kite and in combo with the Decay Scimitar the ultimate light wind combo yesterday arvo was bliss ,smooth almost glassy water ,no one else on the break and no polies .
don't know where you were kiting testerday, but there was stuff all happening at Stoko.
I did not see any flailing kites at Nobbmysters either!
i was there at 4 pm and it seemed light on.....it spiked around 5 pm but only for 15 minutes....not even enough time to scratch my large... umm...nose
and i need wanky graphs to get me to drive 25 minutes!
Not gonna drive on a whim and a prayer!
although I have been guilty of that in the past.....desperado's......
Here's a tip for stocko in those conditions .There was stuff all at Nobbys too (the water was glassy ) the angle of the beach up the top of Nobbys makes an ene wind very cross shore .Like anywhere in light winds more crossshore wind the better also swell direction is important (yesterday was SE) .I have found that over at stocko on light days like yesterday you need to get more crosshore (too onshore at the pines) head up to the hospital ,you'll be surprised the difference it makes (which is why when I head over to Stocko I will be riding up there ,even on a strong day it is much better quality than down at the pines )
cheers
