I have just moved down to Victoria from QLD for work. Really looking forward to trying out different spots...cant wait to hit sandy point.
Just would like some advice from locals what the best spots for this time of year are and will be living relatively close to the mornington peninsula. I have a 4x4 so am keen to road-trip on days off!! PM me if anybody is keen to join.

Unfortunately 4x4 won't help much. Beach driving is illegal in Vic so the all the spots you can get to with a normal car including sandy. The only help the 4x4 gives is loading space and you may get an extra 100m down the beach at Sandy if the "no cars' sign is missing as it sometimes is.

Best winter spot for you is Rosebud/Rye, beautiful flat water, nice blue colour and northerlies blow quite often over winter.
